My life in ART has not been easy or constant; at times the desire burned bright and I could not stop painting, while at other times the pressure of work and family life took over. I wanted to become a painter when I was young, but instead became and architect, urban designer and masterplanned.

I am now retired and returned to my first passion of painting that takes me on a journey of discovery to some unexpected destinations. It is both frustrating and rewarding as I strive to find a successful conclusion to each new work. Then almost immediately the process starts again to make something new, as if the brush has a life of its own.

My practice is constantly evolving. I am fascinated with the process of abstraction as I try to capture the essence of a place by responding to the patterns, shapes, colours and textures around me. The journey is exciting, leading me to other artists and experiences that influences my work.

My latest work looks at space and place; how space can be created and the meaning we give to it as it becomes a PLACE. This theme is developed in my current 3D, abstract painting and portraiture.
